As some of you may know, my birthday is on Halloween...
I’ve never had to say, “My birthday’s October 31st,” - & I’d like it to stay that way.
Halloween, by very virtue of it’s name, is ‘All Hallow’s Eve’ - the day before All Saints Day, November 1st! It is not a day that can simply be moved.
But someone in an office somewhere thinks that’s a great idea, & they’re actually trying to have Halloween changed to - as the fourth Thursday of November marks Thanksgiving - the last Saturday of October - from now on!
Halloween has always been, as my birthday, a big part of my Self, & it would be awful indeed if suddenly that was taken away and my birthday was merely October 31st!
Which is obviously a very personal reason, but if, for any reason of your own, you would like to sign a petition with me against this change, here it is.

I love the term 'we're expecting' when talking about pregnancy
because it makes it sound like there’s more than one outcome.
Yeah, we’re expecting a baby
but it could be a velociraptor.
